The same House of Representatives that wimped out on flag burning gave their tacit approval to dismantling the Bill of Rights through the state sponsored erosion of our freedom by approving a ten-year extension on the Patriot Act, most un-patriotic behavior. It must have been such a day when the Liberty Bell cracked. Sadly, it would toll for thee today, if it had not already been silenced. Gee Mom, speaking of silence, the act of silencing and the resulting lack of sound, isn't that why the lady reporter is in the slammer? And she did not even write about what her source told her. Is everybody feeling safer? Are they? Hmmmmmmmmm!

On a local basis, it must be stated that all the Kentucky members of the House of Representatives voted to extend this hideous legislation, just as they did on the flag burning issue. There is a common theme here: they are clearly against our first amendment right of protest as well as any protection from search, seizure and surveillance. I suggest another common theme for them - exit Congress in 2006.
